April 21, the first day of the City of Equals youth camp started at Sumy State University, which aims to familiarize pupils and students with the concept of interethnic tolerance, promote the values of cultural diversity and mutual respect, the principles of equality, freedom, openness, and tolerance.

The first day of the City of Equals camp was attended by graduates of the Sumy Classical Gymnasium, students of the Sumy Professional College of Economics and Trade and Sumy State University.

The camp was organized and conducted by students of the Management of Socio-Cultural Activities educational program (project team leader - V. Prykhozhai) with the support of the student government of the IFSC faculty (student dean - M. Tkachenko).

This is the second time that the camp has been held at Sumy State University. In the process of preparing the camp, A. Bolotaeva, a graduate student of the Management of Socio-Cultural Activities program, who led the project team last year, shared her experience with the project team.

“City of Equals” was organized as part of the students' coursework in the discipline “Interethnic and Interfaith Tolerance” (supervisor - Associate Professor of Psychology, Political Science and Socio-Cultural Technologies V. Opanasiuk). The camp activities reflected and showed the content of the curriculum of this discipline from a new perspective.
