Oleh Tuliakov, Associate Professor of the PPST Department, in the status of Chairman of the Public Council at the Sumy Regional Military Administration, took part in an event aimed at updating the main strategic document of Sumy region.

It was a meeting of the working group on updating the Regional Development Strategy of Sumy Region for 2024-2027 with the implementation of the Regional Development Strategy of Sumy Region for 2021-2027.

The meeting was chaired by Taras Savchenko, First Deputy Head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, Doctor of Economics, Professor. The event was moderated by Dmytro Lukin, PhD in Economics, an expert in strategic planning for regional development. The discussion was attended by the heads of structural units of the regional state administration and the Sumy Regional Council.

The participants of the event were presented with the Profile (socio-economic analysis), SWOT-analysis and goal structure of Sumy region.

In his speech, Oleh Tuliakov, in particular, pointed out the expediency of organizing strategic processes in the territorial communities of Sumy region, which can lead to the identification of “growth points” of the local economy, strengthening human capital, and ensuring a proper quality of life. The scientific approach in this work can be ensured by the cooperation of territorial communities with university departments in the framework of course projects and qualification works. The reality and undeniable benefits of such a process have been demonstrated by the experience of implementing projects supported by the Partnership for a Strong Ukraine Foundation, which was implemented on the basis of the Department of Psychology, Political Science and Socio-Cultural Technologies.
