In November 2024, focus group interviews were conducted in Sumy, Konotop and Putivl territorial communities to identify the needs of local communities for resilience, recovery and development.

The purpose of the study is to identify the problems, needs and resources of territorial communities in wartime and post-war conditions in order to develop service learning courses that will contribute to the formation of community-oriented services in the community.

In each of the communities, the focus groups involved representatives of local governments, businesses, the public sector, and community members, including vulnerable groups.
The study is being implemented by Sumy State University with the Alliance of Ukrainian Universities as part of the ServU-ERASMUS-EDU-2023 project. The project is inter-faculty and combines the efforts of scientists from the faculties of IFSC, BiEM, INN, Law, and the Medical Institute.

Specialists of the Department of IPES are responsible for the research stage and will further implement service learning in the specialties of Social Work and Psychology.
