Socialization of persons with disabilities through their involvement in sports is the focus of the course and qualification project of Alina Pirog, a student majoring in Social Work at Sumy State University (supervisor - Associate Professor Oleh Tuliakov).

As part of this research, Alina has established cooperation with two public organizations that unite people with disabilities - the NGO "Initiatives of Slobozhanshchyna" (headed by Anatoliy Sassa) and the NGO "Dobrota" (headed by Oleg Kubrak).

Recently, a joint event on "Strategies for the Life Success of Persons with Disabilities" was held, where group work and storytelling methods were tested.

Sport is a competitive activity of individuals to determine physical ability in agility, flexibility, strength, speed, endurance. The Sumy State University Sports Club has a group of athletes with disabilities who go in for athletics (coach - Yevhen Lytovtsev).  Some of them are winners of regional, national and international competitions. This invaluable experience deserves to be studied and shared with the public. Alina Pirog took on this useful task.

The event, in particular, focused on sports as an effective method of socialization and ensuring an adequate level of health, performance, and a stable emotional state.

A series of publications on video hosting sites and social networks is planned based on the results of the event.
