December 13 and 14, students Danylo Kuts (educational program "Social Work") and Alyona Yaremenko (educational program "Medicine") took part in the training "Detection and prevention of suicidal behavior", which was held in Sumy by Lifeline Ukraine together with International Medical Corp.

The goal of the training is to provide relevant and practical information and skills to help recognize and provide assistance to people in a suicidal crisis. The applied training methods, interesting exercises in small groups and cases made it possible to form practical skills for recognizing and minimizing risk factors, identifying signs of suicidal moods.

Information about the specifics of work on the prevention of suicidal attitudes in various risk groups, in particular, the communicative features of communicating with people who are experiencing a crisis, turned out to be important. Training participants identified and analyzed resources, got acquainted with support services, in particular, at the level of territorial communities, studied intervention and support models effective for assistance.

At the same time, the trainers provided useful information about strategies for managing stress and emotional burnout of individuals who work directly with at-risk groups. The training was interesting and informative.
