January 9, Oleh Tuliakov, Chairman of the Public Council at the Sumy Regional Military Administration, Associate Professor at Sumy State University, together with Andriy Lebid, Chairman of the Public Council Commission and Professor at Sumy State University, took part in a regular meeting of the working group on the preparation of the Statute for the territorial community of Sumy. The activity is carried out with the expert support of the Council of Europe.

One hundred pages and seven annexes of the Statute, in particular, set out the mechanisms for community activation, which is critically important given the military circumstances in which the border city of Sumy lives. Oleg Tuliakov and Andriy Lebid have been making conceptual proposals to the text of the Statute throughout the working group's work. At this meeting, their speeches were aimed at urgent and systematic implementation of the mechanisms of civic participation in solving defense, socio-economic and cultural problems of the city, as defined by the Statute.

An agreement was also reached on the participation of the leaders of the Sumy City Council in the work of the Sumy Channel, a he Department`s of Psychology, Political Science and Socio-Cultural Technologies media resource. In particular, it is planned to record popular science programs about the opportunities for active citizens provided by the Statute of the territorial community of Sumy in terms of their involvement in political activities at the local level.
