Associate professors of the Department of Psychological and Social Work Tetiana Ivanova and Valentyna Opanasiuk completed their training, passed supervision, and after successful final testing received certificates in the clinical management of mental disorders under the World Health Organization's mhGap program.
"An extremely important feature of the training is its practical focus on mastering applied techniques for self-regulation of one's own emotional state. Coaching support and involvement in discussions during supervision allowed us to consider practical cases and topical issues of mental health," said T. Ivanova.
The training is important in terms of proper communication and emotional support for people with mental health disorders and their families. The knowledge gained during the training is especially relevant in stressful conditions and will be applied in the training of social workers, psychologists, as well as in the implementation of student projects by medical students.
The training was organized by the International Medical Corps in cooperation with the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. The training and supervision were conducted by experienced trainers from the Institute of Psychiatry of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.
