On March 21, first-year students of the Social Work educational program gained important experience by preparing and conducting a creative activity for people with intellectual disabilities at the Felicitas Center for Assistance. The interaction takes place within the framework of the EU4Youth project "EU4Youth - Youth Employment in Times of Crisis: Personal Assistants Program to Support People with Autism, Intellectual Disabilities and Psychosocial Disabilities in Ukraine".

Students demonstrated independence and initiative, and in return gained experience as a personal assistant to a person with a disability. It is important that after the event, the specialists of the NGO Felicitas commented on its course and gave our freshmen recommendations for further professional training. It was noted that the students managed to create a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for the organization's children.

The educational program "Social Work" at Sumy State University has a fairly broad focus and provides for the training of future specialists to work with different target groups. However, our cooperation with Felicitas is invaluable for us, as it allows students to develop tolerance and patience in practice, as well as to feel their ability to interact and be useful to people with difficult lives.
