On 10 February, students from the department took part in a series of lectures and discussions with diplomats from NATO Headquarters. The key topics of the lectures were the history and key values of NATO; the current state of relations between Ukraine and NATO and the prospect of membership; practical tools to assist the Alliance in Ukraine.

Dr. Petr Lunyak, a diplomat at NATO Headquarters, said: "It is important for NATO today to communicate with the youth of NATO and Partner countries in order to have a clear understanding of the organisation's mission and future goals".

Tanya Hartman, Political and Security Policy Expert at NATO Headquarters, focused on a special partnership between Ukraine and NATO, as well as instruments of practical support for Ukraine: trust funds, advisory support and joint exercises.

The moderator of the event, Mykola Nazarov, Candidate of Political Science, expressed confidence that educational events of this format are extremely necessary, as they complement the existing educational program and expand the worldview of young people on important general political topics. The lectures are organized by the Department of PPST, the Center for Regional Security Studies in partnership with the NATO Information and Documentation Center in Ukraine.
