16.12.2020 an online meeting of applicants for higher education in the educational program "Psychology" with the psychologist of the Department of Hematology of Sumy Regional Children's Hospital Oksana Oleksandrivna Gorshkova took place. During the online meeting, the issues of pros and cons of the profession of psychologist, the difficulties that arise in the professional path, the advantages of art therapy in comparison with other methods and features of its implementation were discussed.

On October 7 Congress Center of Sumy State University hosted a seminar to discuss the changes in security that are taking place in the world. Together with US military expert Ken RAKERS and NASU Professor Alexander POTIEKHIN, the university students discussed the impact of the pandemic on social and economic security, the US election, NATO's role in today's crisis world and Ukraine-US relations.

Psychological Service of SumDU is actively involved in cooperation with practical psychologists of Ukrainian universities in the framework of the Interregional Platform "Challenges and Prospects of Psychological Services in Higher Education Institutions". Recently, a joint online meeting of representatives of the psychological services of the West Ukrainian National University and Sumy State University with students of WUNU took place. Lyudmyla Kolisnyk, a practical psychologist of SSU, presented a report on the topic: "Psychological Service of a Socially Responsible Institution of Higher Education". In the report, Ms. Lyudmila focused on the structure, features, forms of work, and cooperation of the psychological service of SumDU, as well as shared a photo presentation of the practical experience of the service.

Representatives of the "Center for Social and Humanitarian Aspects of Regional Research" of Sumy State University on 27-28 of August in Kyiv took part in a training program on strategic planning, organized by the International Renaissance Foundation, for the winners of the grant program "Initiative for the Development of Analytical Centers". Strategic planning provides the basis for all management decisions, organizational functions, motivation and control.

4-th year students majoring in "Social Work" from 11 to 13 of August were participants in the "Summer School for Future Social Workers and Psychologists" on "Combating Trafficking in Human Beings" and received the titles of ambassadors. During learning, the state of this problem in Ukraine and the world was considered. This time there was a unique opportunity to try yourself in the role of a real social specialist (during a simulation game) approached by a person who is likely to be a victim of human trafficking.

 

On 21 of August the city of Sumy hosted an action dedicated to the Independence Day of Ukraine "Let's sing together!" in the framework of the project "Women's voice has power 2020". In honor of the 29-th anniversary of Independence, we gathered in the square named after T.G. Shevchenko, to sing together the song "My Ukraine", be the first to congratulate the people of Sumy on the holiday and show that only in unity is our strength!

The street action was organized by the NGO "Center of Public Initiatives "Intellect of Sumy Region" in cooperation with Sumy State University and the NGO "Human Rights Foundation", but in fact it was bright and positive by virtue of participation of SSU vocal studio and dance theater "Extravaganza".

The strength of Ukrainians in unity! In honor of the 29-th anniversary of Independence of Ukraine in Sumy, in the square named after T.G. Shevchenko, was held an all-Ukrainian action "Let's sing together!" in the framework of the project "Women's voice has power".

Correspondents of the "Vidikon" TV channel will tell what the flash mob aims at and how actively the residents of Sumy region joined it.

On March 11, Sumy State University hosted a training game on conflict situations in political communication. Students of the specialty "Psychology", "Management of socio-cultural activity" and "Journalism and philology" joined the event. Certified communications trainer, Crisis Semiotic Studios founder Andrey Zagorodsky worked with the students. During the event, students learned more about modern political communication, the psychological component of political conflict, and the fundamental difference between conflict and crisis. In modern examples, the trainer has shown how to deal with crises and conflicts, how to behave during interviews and what to do during a conflict.

During the stimulation game, the students worked out the situation of political crisis - the absence of the party leader before submitting documents to the CEC. The six teams represented the interests of the various actors and communicated within the group and among themselves how to deal with the crisis.

The training was organized by the Department of Psychology, Political Science and Socio-Cultural Technology in collaboration with Research Centre for Regional security with the support of the NATO Information and Documentation Center in Ukraine.
