December 23, a meeting of the Commission on the educational program "Management of Socio-Cultural Activities", first (bachelor's) level of higher education, was held at the Department of PPST to recognize the results of non-formal and/or informal learning.

The Psychological Service of Sumy State University continues to conduct active training forms of work with students in a mixed format. In close cooperation with the curator of the group SR - 31 Korol S.M. and at the request of the curator of the specialty OP "Social work" Kupenko O.V. , at the request of the students, an interactive class was held to practice the skills of effective communication, joint decision-making, improving skills related to analysis and forms of information transfer to others.

December 20, a guest lecture was held by Vera Rodionova, a specialist in HR, recruiting and staff training, representative of the non-profit organization "Power Hub Zug", created in Switzerland in 2022 to help Ukrainians in employment.

December 15, the NGO "Center for Lifelong Learning" in partnership with DVV International in Ukraine held an event "Reintegration of War Veterans through the Creation of Educational Opportunities".

Doctor of Philosophical Sciences, Professor Andrii Lebid became the winner of the International Research Competition "Slavery in the past and present", organized with the assistance and support of the East European Historical Society (Washington, USA), Cherkas Global University (Washington, USA) and KAD International (Effiduase -Koforidua, Eastern Region, Ghana).

According to the protocol, scientific works of researchers from different countries were submitted to the competition. Evaluation of each competitive work was carried out by at least three experts according to each of the following criteria:

  • Actuality of theme;
  • originality and novelty of the approach;
  • knowledge of research methods;
  • systematicity, integrity and scientific validity;
  • practical and theoretical significance of the work;
  • quality and originality of the presentation.

The winners of the Competition were determined on the basis of the total rating of the evaluations of the members of the Competition Commission. The conclusion of the Competition was timed for December 2, 2023 - the International Day of the Struggle for the Abolition of Slavery, which has been celebrated since 1949. The Commission for summarizing the results of the Competition highly praised the results of the scientific research of Professor Andrii Lebid "Conceptualization and legalization of modern forms of slavery and practices similar to it in the system of international guarantees of human rights" and selected it as one of the best among many others submitted to the Competition. According to the results of the Competition, the winning researches were awarded monetary prizes.

December 13 and 14, students Danylo Kuts (educational program "Social Work") and Alyona Yaremenko (educational program "Medicine") took part in the training "Detection and prevention of suicidal behavior", which was held in Sumy by Lifeline Ukraine together with International Medical Corp.

December 12-13, at the invitation of the Geneva Center for Security Sector Governance DCAF, Associate Professor of the Department of Psychology, Political Science and Socio-Cultural Technologies Mykola Nazarov delivered a presentation at the international expert seminar "Striking a Balance between Efficiency and Democratic Civilian Control in the Defense Sector: Lessons for Ukraine from Finland, South Korea and Taiwan".

December 13, PL-11 students Anastasiia Lushchyk and Anna Yahanova, together with Associate Professor of the Department of PPST T. Ivanova, took part in the 11th International Mardin Artuklu Congress.

Lecturers of the Department of Psychology, Political Science and Socio-Cultural Technologies Olena Kupenko and Kristina Sakhno coached eight trainings on "Integration of Protection" for representatives of local communities from Mykolaiv, Sumy, Kharkiv and Dnipro regions. Participants included heads of amalgamated territorial communities, starostas, social workers, representatives of NGOs, educators and members of IDP councils.

Within the framework of cooperation between students of the educational program "Management of Socio-Cultural Activities" of Sumy State University (Veronika Prykhozhai, 3rd year student), members of the scientific association "Designing Activities of the Event Team" of the PPST Department and the "Romantika" YC, the event "Culture is on Time" was prepared and held (on the basis of the "Romantika" YC).
