A large-scale information campaign has been launched in Ukraine to overcome the stigma surrounding men's mental health issues and encourage them to seek help when they need it. It became part of the communication campaign “Are you okay?” All-Ukrainian Mental Health Program, an initiative of First Lady Olena Zelenska.

August 27-28, 2024, the II All-Ukrainian Forum of IDP Councils was held, where Kristina Sakhno, an expert of the Center for Social Research, lecturer of the PPST Department at Sumy State University, joined a panel discussion on the problems of combating human trafficking.

The Sumy City Territorial Community is implementing the All-Ukrainian Mental Health Program “Are You OK?” at the initiative of First Lady Olena Zelenska.

Recently, a training for trainers and supervisors of the WHO Self-Help Plus stress management program was held in Kyiv as part of First Lady Olena Zelenska's initiative, the National Program for Mental Health and Psychosocial Support.

August 19, the scientific professional edition of the B category “Psychology and Social Work” published an article co-authored by Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor, Senior Lecturer of the PPST Department Oleksandr Kotenko and a graduate of the educational program “Social Work” Anzhela Kokhno on the topic: “Technology of art therapy in the social adaptation of internally displaced children in the context of sustainable development goals”.

For two years, international humanitarian organizations have been operating in Ukraine in the context of the war to help respond to emergencies. The these organizations have drawn the attention to a wide range of specialists to international standards within the humanitarian aid, those who seek to build professionalism and awareness of approaches to effective assistance.

Kyrylo Dyneka, a second-year student of the Psychology program, has been an active and motivated student during his first year of study. Kyrylo participates in various youth projects, is involved in student government activities, and recently decided to apply for the Study Abroad/Exchange Program at the University of Liverpool.

A meeting between the lecturers of the PPST Department and the heads and employees of five border territorial communities of Sumy Region took place in the Sadivska rural territorial community. At the meeting, they talked about the prospects of cooperation of the PPST department with communities in terms of forming an order for course and qualification projects with the implementation of research results in practice.

The lecturers of the PPST department developed strategies for the development at five border communities of the Sumy region.

July 31, in the "Free" friendly space for women and girls, an event "Recognize the danger in time" was held on the occasion of the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, with the participation of actors involved in anti-trafficking activities and visitors to the institution.
